Safety campaign launched in Mr Bricolage group stores - 02/04/2012

On 10 April 2012 customers in Mr Bricolage stores will discover the new safety communications campaign. This operation is organised under the aegis of the French Federation of DIY and home furnishing stores (FMB – Féderation des Magasins de Bricolage).

For 2012, FMB has decided to maintain safety communication in stores all year long, for the first time ever. Pro-safety messages will be addressed to both customers and store employees.

FMB aims to help parents and children to adopt the right gestures and attitudes in stores via this communications campaign. “Watch them, protect them” will be the new message of the three different posters (see one of the models opposite). A leaflet folded in 3 will also be handed to parents. This leaflet describes a few safety tips and reminds parents that this store is not an adventure playground for our kids (see the final document below).

This new communication is combined with a poster campaign for store employees under the slogan “customer safety is my priority” (see poster below).

The Mr Bricolage stores are relaying the safety campaign of FMB just like every year. This pro-safety communications campaign is also supported by the French Consumer safety commission (CSC- Commission de Sécurité des Consommateurs).

The new TV campaign for 2012 with Stéphane Plaza is underway - 27/03/2012

Stéphane Plaza, M6 presenter, is returning with two new TV ad runs for Mr Bricolage.

The “Incognito” and “Camouflage” spot ads will be broadcast on the leading TV channels from 1st to 22nd April. This season, the main theme involves the neverending attempts of Stéphane Plaza to obtain key tips from Mr Bricolage advisors.

Stéphane, a favourite presenter with French TV viewers, is recognised as an expert in home management with his programs “Maison à vendre” (House for sale) and “Recherche appartement ou maison” (Seeking flat or house for sale). He therefore contributes to the credibility of Mr Bricolage: “Take good care of your home, you won’t regret it”.

Mr Bricolage reinforces its local services at Tours, Carnac and Wissembourg - 12/03/2012

Mr Bricolage has recently extended its network of local stores. The group has opened three stores in Carnac (56), Tours (37) and Wissembourg (67). These three stores provide an additional surface area of 3,800 m² for the group.

At Tours (photo opposite), the store opened on 29 February at forum Grammont (just a few metres from the town hall). This store, with a surface area of less than 1,000 m², reflects Mr Bricolage’s strategy to reconquer town centres.

The DIY stores of the group started out in town centres in the 1960′s. As the years went by and the new DIY market expanded, extra space was required for new types of product. DIY stores therefore moved out to suburban areas, in the newborn trading areas. In recent years, customers have changed their purchasing habits. They are tired of having to drive many kilometres and waste time to buy everyday products. They are increasingly looking for local stores meeting their expectations.
