Des QR-codes sur les emballages à marque Mr.Bricolage - 24/01/2012

Mr.Bricolage propose des vidéos d’aide au choix et à l’utilisation sur ses emballages de produits à marque de distributeur (MDD). Avec les QR-codes*, les clients de l’enseigne peuvent désormais visualiser une vidéo pour les aider dans leurs achats.
Il suffit de photographier le QR-code présent sur la face avant des emballages avec son smartphone. Il faut préalablement avoir téléchargé une application permettant l’enregistrement d’un QR-code. Mr.Bricolage est la 1ère enseigne de bricolage à aider ses clients à choisir et utiliser ses produits avec des vidéos directement en magasin.
Progressivement, toutes les gammes MDD de l’enseigne comporteront un QR-code associé à un service utile (aide au choix, utilisation, mode d’emploi, notice de montage, entretien, service après vente…). Dès à présent, les gammes jardin : gazon, gants et outillage taillant à main, disposent d’un QR-code sur leur emballage.

Les smartphones représentent 27% des mobiles en France. Cette part ne cesse de progresser d’année en année. 42% des Français possédant un mobile regarde des vidéos pour faire leurs achats.
* Le QR-code est une nouvelle norme de codification en 2 dimensions, plus évoluée que le code à barres ou Gencod.


A Madagascar Mr.Bricolage ouvre son 2ème magasin - 18/01/2012

A Madagascar, l’enseigne Mr.Bricolage vient d’inaugurer son second magasin. Les deux magasins sont implantés dans la capitale, Antananarivo.

La surface du nouveau magasin est de 350 m². Une surface adaptée au besoin de la clientèle du pays qui recherche avant tout les produits basiques de bricolage. Ce nouveau point de vente fonctionnant en satellite du magasin principal. Celui-ci dispose d’une surface de 1300 m².

C’est le 61ème magasin Mr.Bricolage à l’international. Dans les mois qui viennent, plusieurs ouvertures sont prévues. La plupart de ces ouverture se fera dans différents pays où l’enseigne est installée mais également dans des pays où Mr.Bricolage n’était pas encore présent.


Soirée de remise des diplômes au centre de formation Mr.Bricolage - 13/01/2012

L’Institut de Formation à la Gestion et au Commerce (IFOGECO) dédié au groupe Mr.Bricolage, a remis les diplômes délivrés par son « Ecole des managers ». Lors de la soirée du 9 janvier 2012, la promotion « Joris » a cédé la place à la promotion « Doras ». The gardening operation of Mr. Bricolage acknowledged - 12/12/2011

The J Group, which publishes the Jardineries magazine, has awarded a “Graine d’argent” (Silver seed) to Mr Bricolage. This award recognises the gardening operations of Mr Bricolage within the DIY superstore (GSB) category. The trophy was handed to the representatives of the Group at the “Graines d’or” (Golden seeds) ceremony organised by the J Group. The event is organised each year to bring together distributors in the gardening segment.

This award acknowledges the efforts of the Mr Bricolage gardening teams. Gardening operations have particularly expanded for Mr Bricolage. Gardening sales represent 15.7% of overall turnover for Mr Bricolage. In France, gardening sales generally only represent a mean percentage of 12% of overall turnover for GSB (Source: Unibal study – April 2011). In terms of share of Group turnover, the gardening department ranks 2nd behind decorations.


The Mr Bricolage group optimizes its logistics - 05/12/2011

On 1 December 2011, the Mr Bricolage group combined all of its logistics operations within MB Log.

This new company will simplify the Logistics organisation of the Group. MB Log includes the warehouses at Voivres-lès-Le-Mans (72), Cahors (46) and Artenay (45) and the part of logistics administration based at La Chapelle Saint-Mesmin, head office of the Group in Le Loiret. The company employs 160.

The logistics platform in Cahors will be transferred in 2013. A new warehouse, currently under construction, will be opened. The surface area of the warehouse will increase from 6,000 to 20,000 m². This new resource is a key phase in the deployment of Group logistics in south France.

With the implementation on the Law on the Modernisation of the Economy (LME) and, in particular, the reduction in terms of payment, the Mr Bricolage Group has totally revised its logistics model. The reduction in store stocks required has made changes to flow-based logistics indispensable. The delivery methods used for all product references and, in particular, distributor-brand products, has been reconsidered. The group’s aim is to enhance the profitability of stores while reducing the cost of possessing products to improve cash flow.


Mr Bricolage actively involved in disability week 2011[/lang-en] - 14/11/2011

Mr Bricolage actively promotes the employment of disabled employees. The group will be participating in disabled week from 14 to 20 November 2011.

The accounting services of the head office recently hosted a disabled person. This one-day operation was organised in the context of the Project supporting Agefiph. The aim for the disabled person is to discover a trade and a company and to boost a career plan. For the company, this operation promotes its sectors, ensures the consideration of diversity in human resource management, ensures that personnel are aware of the difficulties faced by the disabled, and finally, helps to change attitudes towards the disabled.


Belgium: three more Mr Bricolage stores![/lang_en - 10/11/2011

Yet another 3 new Mr Bricolage stores have opened in Belgium, bringing the total number of new stores to 7 in 2011. The Belgian Mr Bricolage network now includes 36 sales outlets.

On 27 October 2011, Mr Bricolage opened 3 stores in Spa, Couvin and Waremme. These new stores represent over 5,600 m² in indoor surface area and over 800 m² in outdoor space.

The Belgian network of Mr Bricolage stores is continuing its expansion by attracting independent traders. A very dense network of DIY stores exists in Belgium. They generally have a surface area somewhere between 1500 and 2000 m². These stores are often managed by independent traders. These independent traders join a trading group, but are increasingly turning to groups with strong reputations such as Mr Bricolage.


The Chief Executive Officer of Mr Bricolage on France Bleu Orléans - 08/11/2011

Jean-François Boucher, Chief Executive Officer of the Mr Bricolage group, was interviewed on the France Bleu Orléans radio station.

The interview was broadcast on Monday 7 November 2011. During this interview, Jean-François Boucher described group news.

He reiterated the current local strategy for Mr Bricolage stores. This strategy aims to bring group stores closer to customer expectations. In this respect, he announced the group’s aim to create stores in town centres. Inhabitants appreciate central DIY stores, while these stores have progressively moved away from town centres. Jean-François Boucher particularly referred to the plans to install a Mr Bricolage store in the centre of Orléans. This option depends on current negotiations with the owner of the property.

He also referred to the development of services, such as home fittings. The journalist asked Jean-François Boucher to comment on the ‘in the increase in V.A.T. V.A.T. has recently been increased from 5.5 to 7% by the government. According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Mr Bricolage group, this difference is not significant enough to modify the decision to go for “DIY” rather than paying full labour costs for an installation.

Finally, Jean-François Boucher mentioned product pricing. He indicated that the Mr Bricolage group offered bottom-of-the-range products, with no massive use of imports. Mr Bricolage has created partnerships with French industry over the years. The store aims to defend industrial know-how and the quality of French products.

Jean-François Boucher, CEO of Mr Bricolage in Le Parisien - 02/11/2011

An interview with Jean-François Boucher, Chief Executive Officer of the Mr Bricolage group, was published in le Parisien Economie on 31 October 2011.

In this article, Jean-François Boucher presented news for the Mr Bricolage group. He explained group strategy, focusing on local stores. The Chief Executive Officer of Mr Bricolage particularly described the group’s policy targeting town-centre stores, the development of services (home fitting, equipment rental) and providing support for French industry.

Finally, Jean-François Boucher commented on the launch of the new Mr Bricolage store brands: Point B, Inventiv and Dédicace. These brands are presented as alternatives to national brands sold at prices 15 – 20% below national brands. The new strategy aims to raise the market share of store brands to 20%by 2014 as compared with the current 12%.


Mr Bricolage opens in Voves (28) and Aigrefeuille sur Maine (44) - 28/10/2011

Two new local Mr Bricolage stores have opened in Voves (Eure et Loir) and Aigrefeuille sur Maine (Loire-Atlantique).

The store in Voves (25 km to the south-east of Chartres) was previously operated as a Catena store. This store benefits from 700 m² of indoor surface area, 245 m² of outdoor gardening space and 445 m² under a canopy.

At Aigrefeuille sur Maine (20 km to the south-east of Nantes), the store was created by a former employee of the Mr Bricolage head office. This achievement illustrates group policy, encouraging takeovers or the creation of stores by employees. Mr Bricolage has created a “Passport for entrepreneurs”, a specific support system for this type of project. The store in Aigrefeuille sur Maine has an indoor surface area of 1,000 m² and 725 m² in outdoor surface area.
