The Challenges magazine published its classification of the best employers in France in 2010 in its most recent edition of 7 January.

The Mr.Bricolage group ranked 36 with the recruitment of 1180 employees with permanent contracts and 130 managers. This result confirms the classification obtained in the survey carried out by the L’Express Le Figaro magazine in 2009.

Recruitment relates to stores (vendorsreceivers, till operators, department managers et directors), head office and logistics platforms.

Mr.Bricolage commits to employing senior citizens - 16/12/2009

The Mr.Bricolage group participated at the Salon Emploi Seniors (Employment fair for senior citizens) 15 December at the Conference Centre in Orléans. This initial fair was organised by theJunior Economic Chamber of Loiret and was supported byTwideco, the leading regional economic web TV channel.
A round table ended the day. Lucie Brasseur, founder of Twideco, led the debate shown live on the web TV channel. Participants were able to ask several questions on the issue of the employment of senior citizens.

salon-emploi-senior-orleans-mr-bricolageJean-Mary Marie, Human Resources director for the Mr.Bricolage group, described the initiatives taken and the 4 lines of group policy for senior citizens:
- social integration with 10% of recruitment assigned to senior citizens
- development of skills to encourage access to training, the assessment of current skills, VAE (Recognition of past experience) and individual training rights.
- improvements to working conditions and the organisation of work in coordination with social partners (Works council, Personnel representatives and the health, safety and working conditions committee).
- development of solidarity between the different generations to promote the transmission of knowledge.

Changes to the age pyramid make it essential to continue with company careers. The policies of companies such as Mr.Bricolage integrate this new situation.


The Mr.Bricolage group trains its future directors - 05/12/2009

 mr-bricolage-ifogeco-ecole-directeur-diplome-magasin-2009 Ifogeco, the Mr.Bricolage group training institute, has issued diplomas to its future store directors. This first set of graduates was baptised the “Bernard Ivernel” class, which is the name of main founder of the grouping of independent stores.

The ceremony was organised in the presence of Jean-François Boucher, Chief Executive Officer of the Mr.Bricolage group, Jean-Mary Marie, Human Resources director, Philippe Colomby, Director of Integrated Stores, Jianny Gigan, Director of Ifogeco, and the team of monitors.

This sandwich course training is organised over one year, with one week per month. Eight new directors were rewarded for their participation and the quality of their final presentation. Next year, the Management school will be completed to train the sons and daughters of current franchise managers, destined to take over the family business one day. This Mr.Bricolage group internal training program is highly successful, with fifteen participants registered for the next course.

Jean-François Boucher reiterated the importance accorded by the Group to the men and women working within the grouping. Every effort is made to ensure personnel progress, and the Group even provides support for personnel wishing to take over or create their own company thanks to the Passport for entrepreneurs.  This program was launched in 2008, and two former Group employees received support in 2009.


Influenza A: all precautions have been taken! - 20/11/2009

France 3 documentary yesterday at the head office of the Mr.Bricolage group, on the current hot topic: the Influenza A pandemic and the prevention plans applied by companies..

Jean-Mary Marie, Human Resources director, described the Activity continuity plan in the documentary. This plan was prepared more than 4 months ago and is intended to manage the situation in each store in case of an influenza pandemic.

One million masks ordered

Almost one million masks have been ordered at group level, plus tens of thousands of bottles of hydro-alcoholic solutions. This risk is taken very seriously in order to protect both employees and customers, and to ensure service continuity, should the influenza virus prove even more virulent.
