Mr.Bricolage group stores bet on safety - 14/06/2010

AFFICHE MAGASIN 2009The 2010 safety campaign has been launched in all Mr.Bricolage group stores. This 8th annual event is organised under the aegis of the rench Federation of DIY and home furnishing stores (FMB). This event is organised in partnership with the Consumer Safety Commission (CSC) and the European Federation of Emergency Services for the Hands (FESUM). Ensuring awareness of risks in stores The idea is for all group stores to ensure that parents and children are aware of how to act and the precautions to take in DIY stores. The campaign is advertised with in-store posters with a simple slogan “This store is not a playground, keep your eyes open”. Stores will distribute a specially designed happy families game, and a “Your hands, your most precious tool” flyer. The web site of the FMB, www.superbricoleur.com will host a competition until 30 June. Children can win their own wooden toolboxes. Accident figures falling slowly but steadily Accident statistics in stores reflect a regular decrease each year. In 2009, only 546 accidents were recorded, as compared with 682 the previous year. This figure must be compared with the 172 million visits recorded to stores over the year. This observation confirms the benefit of regular awareness campaigns in this field.


Mr.Bricolage opens an eco-design store in Barcelonnette - 10/06/2010

mr-bricolage-04-barcelonnette-2010 The Mr.Bricolage store in Barcelonnette was officially opened in the presence of Jean-François Boucher, Chairman of the Mr.Bricolage group. An atypical store for many reasons, primarily the enchanting environment of the surrounding valley and secondly the eco-design of the building.

The town of Barcelonnette is located at an altitude of 1,135 metres in the valley of Ubaye. This town, near to Italy, can boast 7000 inhabitants. The Mr.Bricolage store, present in the town for many years, took advantage of an opportunity to transfer and expand. The new store covers 1,000 square metres of sales surface area and recently set up shop in a building with a mountain-type architecture and urban rules. The franchisee owning the building has committed to a voluntary approach to the protection of the environment. He took advantage of the presence of a ground water layer and installed a geothermic heating/air conditioning system. The particularly sunny environment of the area encouraged the installation of solar panels on the roof, producing 90% of the electricity consumed by the sales outlet.

Not all of the solutions applied in this case can be generalised to all new sites. He added that all environmentally-friendly construction options were considered for each new project.


A very decorations-based store in Landivisiau - 03/06/2010

mr-bricolage-29-landivisiau-bricolage-2010Mr.Bricolage store in Landivisiau has left boulevard de la République and moved into the Vern area, route de Roscoff. With this move, the store has extended to reach 2651 m² of indoor sales surface area and 961 m² of outdoor surface area, as compared with 1518 and 282 m² respectively at the old address.

The sales outlet is now organised around project poles such as the bathroom, the dressing room, decoration and beaux arts. These poles are all placed in ambient settings with many displays of the various possible layouts. A very “deco” style is guaranteed throughout the decoration department (blinds, curtains, wall paper, paint, cushions, etc.).

The indispensable technical range available in any DIY store is clearly present, and DIY fans will find their favourite departments: hardware, tools, electricity, wood and materials, not forgetting the garden.

This is clearly a very decorations-based store, which will delight the inhabitants in part of the north of Finistère and encourage home decoration and furnishing ideas.

he Entente Orléanaise Loiret team won the finals at the French basketball cup against the excellent team of Gravelines-Dunkerque, with a score of 73 – 69. This victory was earned with merit after a tight match and a difficult season, during which the Entente team faced the leading European clubs in the Euroleague. The team will now continue with the Play-Offs, the end-of-season competition bringing together the 8 leading teams from the regular season. The Mr.Bricolage group, partner of the Entente team since 2009, is now more than ever behind the players from Orléans, and will continue to support the team for another 2 seasons, as the contract signed last year will last until 2012. Mr.Bricolage ranks 6th at the tournament of Entente Orléanaise Loiret partners - 10/05/2010

mr-bricolage-tournoi-basket-entente-orleanaise-2010-05-07The Mr.Bricolage head office team played a brilliant game at the basketball tournament of Entente Orléanaise Loiret partners. The mainly-female team ranked 6thout of the 20 teams signed up for its first contribution. This tournament was held on Friday 7 May 2010 at the Palais des sports d’Orléans. The tournament brought together teams comprising employees from companies supporting the Pro A team.

The Mr.Bricolage team fought through the qualifying round by winning all three matches, and lost ground in the quarter finals with just one point down, against one of the two teams which later reached the finals.

Mr.Bricolage renovates at Lourdes and Tarbes - 03/05/2010

mr-bricolage-65-lourdes-bricolage-2010 Mr.Bricolage stores in the Upper Pyrenees have received a makeove. In Lourdes, the 1500 m² store has been adapted to better meet the expectations of local customers. A larger area has been fitted out to increase the range of special offers. The decoration and garden departments, the strong points of the store, have been highlighted.

According to the director, Jean-François Goulmy, a recent graduate of the Mr.Bricolage group internal training body, “The renovated store now provides us with the means to better display our trade and professional approach for all departments and, above all, to provide greater incentives for the entire team”.

In Tarbes, he store located route de Pau has been completely re-fitted out. The almost 3000 m² of indoor surface area, completed by 500 m² of outdoor space, improve product display, and contribute to a more pleasant store, allowing customers to come and dream up or prepare new furnishing and decoration projects.

The aim was to provide a wider vision of current special offers and project spaces, from the store entrance. The cupboard fitting, sanitary and decoration ranges have been cleverly laid out to give customers ideas and trigger new schemes.


A new Mr.Bricolage store in Rozay en Brie - 30/04/2010

This local store with a sales area of 1200 m² can cut wood and glass, deliver material and copy keys. This store now sells all Mr.Bricolage products, which offer an excellent price to quality ratio.

The store includes 200 m² of outdoor sales area dedicated to outdoor furnishing and gardening products (garden furniture, pots, soil, etc.). The store team includes 6 members of staff, with one apprentice. The store currently offers a wide range of garden products with many plants for the garden and the kitchen garden in particular.

Mr.Bricolage launches its new on-line store - 20/04/2010

A new home page

The new home page represents stage one for this new site. The home page displays a rich range of elements corresponding to the current expectations of customers: text, photos and videos. During the second half of the year, a second stage will allow access to e-Commerce with an original range of on-line products.

Rich content

The site can offer many videos on various topics: trends, DIY & decorations, gardening and videos with tips and advice. 60 videos are currently available, with 100 expected in June and 150 by the end of the year. Specialist columnists contributed to these videos in their respective fields: Karine Quédreux, chief editor for the magazine C-Déco, Laetitia Nallet, DIY & decorations journalist (RTL, France 3 – Côté Maison, women’s magazines, etc.) and Philippe Collignon, “Mr Garden” of the French morning TV show “Télématin”.

Other sections with advice for internet users are available, e.g. almost 40 DIY suggestions in PowerPoint format (photos and text, with step by step explanations). A convenient little tool can be used to calculate wall paper and paint quantities for decoration projects.

The site will be constantly upgraded. In addition to new videos, the site will regularly offer new tools and new sections.

A participation-based website

The site currently allows internet users to publish their own achievements by uploading before & after photos of their projects. The first 200 achievements selected for publication will receive a gift voucher.

Right with the times, all site pages and videos may be shared on Facebook, Twitter, Digg and other Technorati sites with a simple click.

We are also currently considering the addition of pages dedicated to internet users, allowing them to discuss their experiences.

Six months after the launch of its official site, particularly including a blog and an iPhone site, the Mr.Bricolage group is breaking new ground on the Internet.
