Mr Bricolage opens in Voves (28) and Aigrefeuille sur Maine (44) - 28/10/2011

Two new local Mr Bricolage stores have opened in Voves (Eure et Loir) and Aigrefeuille sur Maine (Loire-Atlantique).

The store in Voves (25 km to the south-east of Chartres) was previously operated as a Catena store. This store benefits from 700 m² of indoor surface area, 245 m² of outdoor gardening space and 445 m² under a canopy.

At Aigrefeuille sur Maine (20 km to the south-east of Nantes), the store was created by a former employee of the Mr Bricolage head office. This achievement illustrates group policy, encouraging takeovers or the creation of stores by employees. Mr Bricolage has created a “Passport for entrepreneurs”, a specific support system for this type of project. The store in Aigrefeuille sur Maine has an indoor surface area of 1,000 m² and 725 m² in outdoor surface area.

Mr Bricolage stores operating in Corsica united to support the 2011 tour of I Muvrini.

The stores offered 6,000 concert tickets to youngsters aged under 16. They will be able to attend one of the “Giru 2011″ shows proposed by the Bernardini brothers.

Tickets must be collected form Mr Bricolage stores in Corsica. This will provide a light-hearted opportunity for future customers to discover the world of DIY stores.


Mr Bricolage wins a “Best Franchisees and partners of France” award - 18/10/2011

Mr Bricolage received an award at the 24th “Meilleurs Franchisés et partenaires de France” competition. This competition is organised by the Fédération des Réseaux Européens de Partenariat et de Réseaux de Franchise (Federation of European Partnership networks and Franchise networks). This institute is better known by its acronym, IREF, and unites independent structured trading networks.

The franchisee of the Mr.Bricolage store in Hazebrouck, Dominique Duquesnoy, received the Grand Award for Commercial Attack. The awards were sponsored by Pierre Lellouche, Secretary of State in charge of foreign trade, and Frédéric Lefèvre, Secretary of State in charge of Commerce and Crafts, SME’s, Tourism, Services, Independent Professions and Consumption.

The IREF also celebrated its 30th anniversary on this occasion. Since its creation, over 600 franchisees and partners have received awards from this institute. The competition received 30% more applications than usual for this 24th edition.

The awards are based on criteria focusing on economic performance, participation in the network, advertising, communication campaigns and involvement in the local community (Chamber of Commerce, associations, etc.).

Mr Bricolage opens a store in Belgrade in Serbia - 14/10/2011

The Mr Bricolage group has recently opened its 3rd store in the town centre of Belgrade in Serbia.

The store in Belgrade has a total surface area of 2,400 m² and employs 35 members of staff. 25,000 product references are on offer, including 3,000 which are specially adapted to the Serbian market.

After Nish in 2009 and Novi Sad in 2010, Briko Spec , a partner of Mr Bricolage in Serbia, continues to develop its network. For Ivica Djordjevic , Managing Director of Briko Spec , “Our aim is to extend our professional activities on the Serbian market in 2012 and open several stores in Serbia in coming years.”


Mr Bricolage partners the Orléans Loiret Basket team for the 2011-2012 season - 03/10/2011

Mr Bricolage and all of the partners of Orléans Loiret Basket met up for the team presentation evening for the 2011-2012 season of the Pro A basketball championships.

Over 400 individuals met on Thursday 29 September around the new OLB team at Place de Loire in Orléans.

The Pathé cinema on the same Place de Loire square had provided its large screen to present the team. A 3D film was shown at the beginning of the evening. The film’s cast consisted of the entire OLB team. The film was set to a Star wars theme in Orléans.

Mr Bricolage has been supporting Orléans Loiret Basket for three years now. Each year, Mr Bricolage is one of the main partners of the kick-off evening. The team includes many new faces (see the previous article on recruitment) for this new season. Recruitment efforts mainly focused on creating a homogenous, united and tight-knit team. Orléans Loiret Basket has announced its aim to rank among the elite in the Pro A basketball championship in 2011-2012.

Two Mr Bricolage stores now open in Baugé and La Ferté sous Jouarre - 30/09/2011

The Mr Bricolage group has recently opened two stores in Baugé (Maine & Loire) and La Ferté sous Jouarre (Seine & Marne). These local stores cover a total surface area of almost 3000 m².

At Baugé (40 km to the east of Angers), the store includes an indoor area of 954 m², a canopy covering 670 m² and an outdoor area of 334 m².

At La Ferté sous Jouarre (20 km to the east of Meaux), the store includes an indoor area of 822 m² and an outdoor canopy covering 120 m². This store was formerly operated under the Catena name.

These two stores add to the set of local stores in the group. The Mr Bricolage network includes almost 400 stores throughout mainland France.

Mr.Bricolage prepares to open a store in Skopje, Macedonia - 22/09/2011

Work on the first Mr. Bricolage store in Skopje, Macedonia, is progressing well. The opening of the store is planned for the first quarter of 2012. The store will cover a surface area of 2,440 m².

The site of the future store lies on a main road leading to the centre of the Macedonian capital, Skopje.

Macedonia is located in the Balkan peninsula. This Republic state was formed after the breakup of Yugoslavia. Macedonia is bordered by Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania. The republic of Macedonia submitted a request to join the European Union in 2004.

The population of Macedonia includes a total of slightly over 2 million inhabitants, of which one third live in the capital city. 59% of the population lives in an urban area. Macedonia covers a surface area of approximately 25,000 km² (equivalent to the surface area of the Netherlands) and mainly consists of mountain areas.

 


The Mr Bricolage group comments on its half-yearly results for 2011 - 05/09/2011

Jean-François Boucher, chief executive officer of Mr Bricolage SA, commented on half-yearly results for the group. A video of the interview was broadcast on La Bourse et la Vie, a web TV site.

The chief executive officer of Mr Bricolage SA demonstrated the good health of the group: growth in profits and reduced debt. During this interview, Jean-François Boucher indicated that the group aimed to become the leader in local trade. The Group aims to achieve this position by providing its customers and independent traders with the right solutions for their requirements. The Group intends to use the three store names operated by the group (Mr Bricolage, Les Briconautes and Entrepôt du Bricolage) combined with their partner status as leverage to achieve the leading slot.

Jean-François Boucher reiterated the targets of the 2014 roadmap (plan Trajectoire) organised by the Group. This roadmap aims to reinforce the local presence of the Group vis-à-vis its customers and independent traders. The official target of the 2014 roadmap is to achieve a turnover of 2.5 thousand million euros. The CEO has announced three lines of action to achieve this target: boost growth, invest in our networks and optimise the profitability of stores integrated in the group.

Finally, Jean-François Boucher indicated that the year 2011 had been dedicated to investment. In this context, he listed the openings recently considered by the group: Design by Mr. Bricolage, the installation and rental service created with Kiloutou and currently in the trial phase.

Bulgaria: Andrei Evtimov receives the national order of merit - 02/09/2011

Andreï Evtimov, representing the Mr Bricolage group in Bulgaria, has been awarded the Ordre National du Mérite – the French national order of merit.

The managing director of Doverie Brico, Andreï Evtimov, recently received the medal from the French ambassador in Bulgaria. This medal is the result of the successful launch of Mr Bricolage in Bulgaria. The group has developed a network of 10 Mr. Bricolage stores in just 10 years, serving the main towns in the country.

Bulgaria has also become a bridgehead for the development of the group in the Balkans. Doverie Brico has recently created a spin-off and opened two stores in Serbia and is preparing to open a store in Macedonia.


Orléans Loiret Basket team in working order for the 2011-2012 season - 21/07/2011

The Orléans Loiret Basket team has recently added five new recruits to its ranks: Brian Greene, Marc-Antoine Pellin, Yohann Sangaré, David Monds and Georgi Joseph. They will be joining Amara Sy, Malèye Ndoye, Maël Lebrun, William Hervé and Johwé Casseus.

Brian Greene is back in the Orléans region. Brian is an experienced and aggressive US player, and good to have on your side for 3-point shots. He played in the finals of Semaine des As and then in the French championships 3 years ago.

Yohann Sangaré is an experienced player, both as a shooter and a passer. He was selected for the French team 18 times. He was coached by Philippe Hervé at Villeurbanne. By returning to Orléans, he will be rejoining his family and a friend, Amara Sy.

Marc-Antoine Pellin is a young point guard and a hard hit on the attack. Thanks to his height of 1.69 m, he is an excellent passer, while handy to have on the defensive. Marc-Antoine was born in Orléans, and is delighted to “return home”.

David Monds is a US player with a solid international career behind him. He arrived in France last season and proved his worth in Pro B, as 3rd blocker and 3rd in defensive rebounds as a pivot.

Georgi Josephis French, from Haiti, and an experienced pivot. He won the French Pro B championship in 2009-2010. He is a hard hitting player with character, both on the offensive and the defensive.

The Orléans Loiret Basket team will soon be complete. One final recruitment is imminent. The club is on the right road to claim the lead slot for the Pro A basketball championships for the 2011-2012 season. The Mr Bricolage group will be on hand to support the team.
