Mr. Bricolage launches a range of designer decorative products. This disclosure was organised at the Maison des Arts & Métiers (House of Arts & Trades) in Paris with a stand. This new range of 15 articles per series will be displayed in Mr. Bricolage stores. Limited quantities of each series will be available on sale. Products will be displayed on a stand especially designed for this new range. This stand will exist in small (shelf-end format) and large (central alleyway format) versions depending on the configuration and size of stores (see visual support media). First ever on-line range The range will also be available on the Internet. This will be Mr. Bricolage’s first ever on-line sale range.

The range of products will be renewed once every two months. Products will be selected for quality and design and sold at highly competitive prices. The range will include small items of furniture, light fittings, decorative articles and accessories. They will be intended for indoor and/or outdoor home use. Leaving the customer free to choose Customers may purchase from stores or on-line. With on-line purchases, customers may opt for delivery to and collection from any preferred store or for home delivery. 130 Mr.Bricolage stores have committed to promoting the wood sector in France. Stores highlight the different uses of wood in homes: construction, renovation, furnishing and decoration.

Wood has many advantages: ecological, sustainable, low-cost, natural, renewable, resistant, convenient and nice to look at. Wood benefits from a positive environmental context. The use of wood globally contributes to reducing greenhouse gases due to its ability to store CO₂. This ability is assessed as one ton per cubic metre of wood transformed. Although French forests are the largest in Europe, French wood production is practically the lowest in terms of quantity per inhabitant.

Times are changing. Elected representatives increasingly promote the use of wood produced locally, or in the region. The government has taken several commitments in favour of wood. These commitments aim to increase the use of wood in the different areas of the home. Public authorities particularly wish to multiply the minimum percentage of wood in new constructions by 10. They also commit to the use of certified wood in public constructions.

Wood promotion campaign

This campaign aims to ensure the public are aware of the use of wood in homes. Stores are currently displaying information stands and brochures in this context. Information brochures are adapted depending on the different uses of wood: patios and fences, insulation and renovation of facades, interior design and decorations, woodwork and parquet flooring. This campaign is organised on behalf of France Bois Forêt, via the Comité National pour le Développement du Bois (CNDB – National committee for the development of wood).

Mr.Bricolage store in Landivisiau has left boulevard de la République and moved into the Vern area, route de Roscoff. With this move, the store has extended to reach 2651 m² of indoor sales surface area and 961 m² of outdoor surface area, as compared with 1518 and 282 m² respectively at the old address.

The sales outlet is now organised around project poles such as the bathroom, the dressing room, decoration and beaux arts. These poles are all placed in ambient settings with many displays of the various possible layouts. A very “deco” style is guaranteed throughout the decoration department (blinds, curtains, wall paper, paint, cushions, etc.).

The indispensable technical range available in any DIY store is clearly present, and DIY fans will find their favourite departments: hardware, tools, electricity, wood and materials, not forgetting the garden.

This is clearly a very decorations-based store, which will delight the inhabitants in part of the north of Finistère and encourage home decoration and furnishing ideas.

Mr.Bricolage stores in the Upper Pyrenees have received a makeove. In Lourdes, the 1500 m² store has been adapted to better meet the expectations of local customers. A larger area has been fitted out to increase the range of special offers. The decoration and garden departments, the strong points of the store, have been highlighted.

According to the director, Jean-François Goulmy, a recent graduate of the Mr.Bricolage group internal training body, “The renovated store now provides us with the means to better display our trade and professional approach for all departments and, above all, to provide greater incentives for the entire team”.

In Tarbes, he store located route de Pau has been completely re-fitted out. The almost 3000 m² of indoor surface area, completed by 500 m² of outdoor space, improve product display, and contribute to a more pleasant store, allowing customers to come and dream up or prepare new furnishing and decoration projects.

The aim was to provide a wider vision of current special offers and project spaces, from the store entrance. The cupboard fitting, sanitary and decoration ranges have been cleverly laid out to give customers ideas and trigger new schemes.

The Catena DIY store in Rozay en Brie has recently switched to Mr.Bricolage. This local store with a sales area of 1200 m² can cut wood and glass, deliver material and copy keys. This store now sells all Mr.Bricolage products, which offer an excellent price to quality ratio.

The store includes 200 m² of outdoor sales area dedicated to outdoor furnishing and gardening products (garden furniture, pots, soil, etc.). The store team includes 6 members of staff, with one apprentice. The store currently offers a wide range of garden products with many plants for the garden and the kitchen garden in particular.

Just six months after the launch of the official site www.mr-Bricolage.com, Mr.Bricolage has activated its new virtual storefront: www.mr-bricolage.fr

A new home page

The new home page represents stage one for this new site. The home page displays a rich range of elements corresponding to the current expectations of customers: text, photos and videos. During the second half of the year, a second stage will allow access to e-Commerce with an original range of on-line products.

Rich content

The site can offer many videos on various topics: trends, DIY & decorations, gardening and videos with tips and advice. 60 videos are currently available, with 100 expected in June and 150 by the end of the year. Specialist columnists contributed to these videos in their respective fields: Karine Quédreux, chief editor for the magazine C-Déco, Laetitia Nallet, DIY & decorations journalist (RTL, France 3 – Côté Maison, women’s magazines, etc.) and Philippe Collignon, “Mr Garden” of the French morning TV show “Télématin”.

Other sections with advice for internet users are available, e.g. almost 40 DIY suggestions in PowerPoint format (photos and text, with step by step explanations). A convenient little tool can be used to calculate wall paper and paint quantities for decoration projects.

The site will be constantly upgraded. In addition to new videos, the site will regularly offer new tools and new sections.

A participation-based website

The site currently allows internet users to publish their own achievements by uploading before & after photos of their projects. The first 200 achievements selected for publication will receive a gift voucher.

Right with the times, all site pages and videos may be shared on Facebook, Twitter, Digg and other Technorati sites with a simple click.

We are also currently considering the addition of pages dedicated to internet users, allowing them to discuss their experiences.

Six months after the launch of its official site, particularly including a blog and an iPhone site, the Mr.Bricolage group is breaking new ground on the Internet.

The Mr.Bricolage store inSaint-Dié (Vosges) has recently expanded.

This store can now boast an indoor area of 3,500 m² thanks to the 650 m² extension. A new canopy has also been constructed in the outdoor area, housing part of the gardening range.

The entire indoor area of the store was revised on this occasion, with extra decorations and fittings. The internal layout was designed to be more spacious and make the store more pleasant for customers.

The Mr.Bricolage roup recently opened a new store in Sisteron (Alpes de Haute Provence). Mr.Bricolage continues to ensure its presence throughout the country by opening a new store between Gap andManosque, where it already has stores.

This local sales outlet will comprise 1500 m² of indoor surface area and 900 m² of outdoor area. This new range is designed to repair, service and decorate home interiors and exteriors, reducing car drives for inhabitants in the region.

The Mr.Bricolage store in d’Aire sur la Lys (Pas de Calais) has been completely reworked. The surface area has not changed, however store layout has been redesigned to enhance the role of decorations.

From the moment customers enter the store, enlarged alleys ensure a direct view of decorative items and furnishings. The entire decorations department has been revised: the paint area has new furniture and the light fittings display has been changed. Finally, the constructions and materials area has been entirely re-organised. The

Mr.Bricolage store in Lillebonne Seine-Maritime (36 km to the east of Le Havre), has expanded. After several months of works, with the store still operating, surface area has been extended from 3,000 to more than 5,000 m².

Movements within the sales outlet have been completely revised, and customers now enter the store opposite the town hall. The indoor area is more spacious, the corridors are wider and lighting has been improved. The entire store team participated in the project, while remaining available for customers. Personnel was topped off with several new members to continue to provide quality services and advice.
