The gardening operation of Mr. Bricolage acknowledged - 12/12/2011

The J Group, which publishes the Jardineries magazine, has awarded a “Graine d’argent” (Silver seed) to Mr Bricolage. This award recognises the gardening operations of Mr Bricolage within the DIY superstore (GSB) category. The trophy was handed to the representatives of the Group at the “Graines d’or” (Golden seeds) ceremony organised by the J Group. The event is organised each year to bring together distributors in the gardening segment.

This award acknowledges the efforts of the Mr Bricolage gardening teams. Gardening operations have particularly expanded for Mr Bricolage. Gardening sales represent 15.7% of overall turnover for Mr Bricolage. In France, gardening sales generally only represent a mean percentage of 12% of overall turnover for GSB (Source: Unibal study – April 2011). In terms of share of Group turnover, the gardening department ranks 2nd behind decorations.


Mr Bricolage expands in Thouars (Deux-Sèvres) - 12/04/2010

mr-bricolage-agrandissement-magasin-thouars-mars-2010 The Mr.Bricolage store in Thouars (Deux-Sèvres) located around fifty kilometres to the east of Cholet, has expanded. The store has a new contemporary façade (see photo).

After a few months of works, during which the store remained open, the store can now offer even more products. The indoor surface area of the sales outlet was extended to almost 3,000 m² including a cold glass area of almost 600 m², plus a hothouse and a pet areacovering a total area of more than 500 m², together with an outdoor area covering 400 m² dedicated to the nursery. An adjacent construction-materials area of 1,650 m² completes the new site.

In the context of its “Graines d’or”, the J Group awarded Mr.Bricolage the bronze trophy in the gardening category for DIY superstores. Gardening customers questioned in the context of a large scale survey highlighted the following advantages for the store, in decreasing order of importance::

- Sales team providing the best advice to customers

- Store providing the most information on the products sold

- Most friendly sales team

- Most welcoming store

- Widest range

- Best quality/price ratio

Thouars: Mr.Bricolage extension - 22/07/2009

The Mr.Bricolage store in Sainte-Verge (near to Thouars – Deux-Sèvres) has launched works for a new extension. The store was opened in 1996 over an area of 2,500 m², and will now be extended with an all-new 1,400 m² building adjacent to the existing building.

The surface area created is intended for a gardening department. Gardening is already a strong sector for this store, which now aims to extend its range and improve the shopping comfort of its customers. Plants will remain outdoors and the area gained in the current store will be re-organised to extend the decoration, DIY and home furnishing departments.

The team of 45 members of personnel will be reinforced with extra recruitment to ensure optimal levels of service and advice for customers.
