All of Orléans was on time Wednesday 22 September for the launch of the 2010-2011 season for the Orléans Loiret Basket basketball team. For the second year running, the head office of Mr. Bricolage at Chapelle Saint-Mesmin (western suburb of Orléans) hosted the presentation of the basketball team for the new Pro A season. The event attracted more than 500 individuals including club partners, local politicians, and the representatives or directors of local companies, institutions and entities. The evening also provided the opportunity to launch the new club name: Orléans Loiret Basket. This new name replaces “Entente Orléanaise Loiret” to adapt to the change in the major partners of the club. The previous logo is maintained with the new club name. Directors presented the team of managers, coaches and technical staff behind the club. The presentation of the players was the high point of the evening. Only two of the current players were on the team for the previous season.

Christophe Dupont (President of Orléans Loiret Basket) presented the shirts held by Serge Grouard, Mayor of Orléans (on the left) and Eric Doligé, President of the General Council of Loiret (on the right).
Eric Doligé (President of the Conseil Général of Loiret) and Serge Grouard (Mayor of Orléans) presented the shirts for the 2010-2011 season: the white shirt, for home games, in the colours of the Conseil Général of Loiret, and the black shirt, for away games, with “Ville d’Orléans” marked. This was a rich evening and a splendid setting for the arrival of the players. A group of Harley Davidsons from “Orléans Centre Chapter” opened up the route, with their horns blazing. The motorcyclists encircled a Kenworth truck with a bed carrying the basketball players. The Sax Avenue orchestra played for the evening and the late cocktail.
