Orléans Loiret Basket team in working order for the 2011-2012 season - 21/07/2011

The Orléans Loiret Basket team has recently added five new recruits to its ranks: Brian Greene, Marc-Antoine Pellin, Yohann Sangaré, David Monds and Georgi Joseph. They will be joining Amara Sy, Malèye Ndoye, Maël Lebrun, William Hervé and Johwé Casseus.

Brian Greene is back in the Orléans region. Brian is an experienced and aggressive US player, and good to have on your side for 3-point shots. He played in the finals of Semaine des As and then in the French championships 3 years ago.

Yohann Sangaré is an experienced player, both as a shooter and a passer. He was selected for the French team 18 times. He was coached by Philippe Hervé at Villeurbanne. By returning to Orléans, he will be rejoining his family and a friend, Amara Sy.

Marc-Antoine Pellin is a young point guard and a hard hit on the attack. Thanks to his height of 1.69 m, he is an excellent passer, while handy to have on the defensive. Marc-Antoine was born in Orléans, and is delighted to “return home”.

David Monds is a US player with a solid international career behind him. He arrived in France last season and proved his worth in Pro B, as 3rd blocker and 3rd in defensive rebounds as a pivot.

Georgi Josephis French, from Haiti, and an experienced pivot. He won the French Pro B championship in 2009-2010. He is a hard hitting player with character, both on the offensive and the defensive.

The Orléans Loiret Basket team will soon be complete. One final recruitment is imminent. The club is on the right road to claim the lead slot for the Pro A basketball championships for the 2011-2012 season. The Mr Bricolage group will be on hand to support the team.

All of Orléans was on time Wednesday 22 September for the launch of the 2010-2011 season for the Orléans Loiret Basket basketball team. For the second year running, the head office of Mr. Bricolage at Chapelle Saint-Mesmin (western suburb of Orléans) hosted the presentation of the basketball team for the new Pro A season. The event attracted more than 500 individuals including club partners, local politicians, and the representatives or directors of local companies, institutions and entities. The evening also provided the opportunity to launch the new club name: Orléans Loiret Basket. This new name replaces “Entente Orléanaise Loiret” to adapt to the change in the major partners of the club. The previous logo is maintained with the new club name. Directors presented the team of managers, coaches and technical staff behind the club. The presentation of the players was the high point of the evening. Only two of the current players were on the team for the previous season.

This was a rich evening and a splendid setting for the arrival of the players. A group of Harley Davidsons from “Orléans Centre Chapter” opened up the route, with their horns blazing. The motorcyclists encircled a Kenworth truck with a bed carrying the basketball players. The Sax Avenue orchestra played for the evening and the late cocktail. Mr.Bricolage participates in the Martinique yawl boat race - 26/07/2009

A round yawl decked up in Mr.Bricolage style participated in the Martinique yawl boat race. This race takes place in several phases and is reserved for the traditional boats of La Martinique. The event was held between 26 July and 2 August this year. The Mr.Bricolage-PMU team, led by Joanny Lagin, made a good run, coming in 9th out of the 18 crews. Last year, the crew only managed 16th. The crew of the yawl, property of the association Las Palmas, is original in that all members are youngsters from the less favoured districts of the Robert municipality. This association has organised yawl sessions for youngsters in difficulty since 1994. Yawl navigation allows these youngsters to acquire basic values such as hard work, sharing and team spirit. Many youngsters have been able to turn over a new page in their lives by returning to school or learning a vocational profession.

Check out the photos and videos of the race on the RFO web site.
