The Mr Bricolage group develops its local services in Paris - 14/12/2010

Mr Bricolage is continuing its policy to promote local shops in town centres. The group recently opened two stores in Paris, previously operated under the Catena store name.

Enhanced presence of Mr Bricolage in Paris and inner Paris. The group can now boast 6 local stores in Paris and 5 in towns just outside of the French capital.

The group’s policy to re-conquer town centres also applies in the rest of France. After Strasbourg and Cachan in recent months, a second Mr Bricolage store will open shortly in the Castellane district of Marseille.

The store is continuing to reinforce its network of local stores. The current transfer of many small stores operating under the Catena name to the Mr Bricolage name will contribute to this policy in favour of local services. This policy is a real boost for customers living in town centres. They are no longer obliged to cover long distances to reach the trading estates to purchase simple everyday items.

A Mr.Bricolage store with a surface area of 800 m² will open today at 14:00 at Cachan (Val de Marne), just a few minutes to the south of the Paris ring road. This new sales outlet has set up shop at the foot of a new building in the town centre, just a stone’s throw from the townhall. The address is 29-31 avenue Louis Georgeon, in a very busy district, just over a free municipal underground car park. The presence of an adjacent food store and extensive window display area are all key advantages and will ensure the appeal of the store.(.

Despite the small surface area, the layout of the store has been carefully designed to maximise space and ensure good product visibility. The main departments are organised into islands. This layout allows all products to be visible and customers can find the products they require rapidly. This is indeed the main objective of a local store. The store also offers a project range with a focus on decorative items, which are visible from the moment customers enter the store. All departments are present, with an urban gardening department in particular, and even a cupboard fittings range.

Services are also on the agenda, starting with advice, the store’s focal point, provided by the seven members of personnel of the sales outlet. The store has a wood and glass cutting service and can hire out specialised tools (drills, punches, wall paper strippers, hedge trimmers, etc.) providing key services to town inhabitants. Finally, a home delivery service is also available.

Ever true to its strategy to promote local services, the Mr.Bricolage group will continue to ensure its presence in town centres. This meets consumer expectations. Consumers expect to find stores near to their homes, with key products for servicing, repairs, DIY and home decoration.
